2011 to present

Vice-President and Co-Founder of Clemens & Asociados, S.A., a company that provides consulting services to businesses. Clemens & Asociados Through is an investor in and a consultant to Smart Tech Group, S.A., a company that developed software and hardware for fiscal printers. Smart Tech is selling fiscal printers in Panama to enable customers to comply with the recently enacted sales tax reporting requirements.

2009 to present

Co-Founder and Director of Ground Solutions World Corp. that provides a proprietary material (CONSOLID) used to stabilize soil for construction projects such as roads and building sites in Panama and Venezuela.

2009 to present

Co-Founder and Vice President of MCC Capital & TAG Corp., a company that consults on energy projects including electrical power generation and oil production and processing. MCCC/TAG is constructing an oil refinery, two tank farms and a connecting pipeline in Panama. MCCC/TAG is consulting on the purchase and installation of electrical generators at several locations in South America and Africa.

2007 to present

Co-Founder and Vice President of Laminati Panama that represents a group of companies providing high quality building materials to office, apartment and condominium developers in Panama.

2006 to present

Founder, President and Senior Consultant of The Alegrett Group (TAG), a consulting firm formed to assist companies in foreign business projects by providing access to the highest levels of government through the contacts that Dr. Alegrett established and maintained throughout his career.

1990 – 2005

Hired by Spanish Government to develop and promote the Spanish Protocol for Technological Transfer & Investment in Health, Education and Agriculture for Venezuela and Colombia.

1987 – 1989

After years of activities related to the world of the space communications on a worldwide scale, he retired and returned to Venezuela and devoted himself to rest with family.

Deputy Director General for Business Planning and External affairs of INTELSAT.

1979 – 1984

“Satellite Television International Inc.” (STIL) was created in the USA. The company’s president was Mr. Richard Colino (who also was vice-president of Comsat as well as the General Director of INTELSAT). Also involved were Mr. Brian Thompson, founder of MCI and LCI, and Dr. J. L. Alegrett, who was Director of INTELSAT and Director of STIL. (This group of people developed and created the project that today is known as DIRECT TV that according to critics was 12 years too advanced in technology. The project was later sold to Mr. Gustavo Cisneros, Emilio Azcarraga, Peter Bottom and other private TV entrepreneurs, who expanded it 12 years later).


Separated himself as Minister Counselor and Official Representative of the Governments he had the honor of representing before INTELSAT, and was designated as Director of External Affairs of INTELSAT.

1974 – 1977

Represented Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela in the Board of Governors of INTELSAT.

Chairman of the Board of Governors of INTELSAT.

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of INTELSAT.

Head of the Delegation of Venezuela for the Agreements of INTELSAT. Dr. Alegrett is the Father of the Definite Régime of INTELSAT.


First representative of Venezuela, Colombia and Chile as their Delegate to the Interim Committee of INTELSAT.

1958 – 1965

Commissioner of the Ministry of Communications of Venezuela in charge of incorporation of Venezuela & Andean countries in INTELSAT.
